Orthopedic, Plastic, & General Surgeons:
If cold compression therapy is part of your standard post-op care, we
provide an insurance-covered service that is expected to shorten recovery
times and improve patient outcomes. Our Targeted Temperature & Compression
(TTC) System provides iceless, temperature/pressure controlled, customized
cold compression therapy at the wound site. Therapy and duration settings
are programmable in advance, enabling on-off functionality for the patient.
The device is quiet, comfortable, and easy-to-use. We supply the Vascutherm
line of hardware manufactured by ThermoTek USA, offering Cold/Heat/Contrast/Compression/DVT
Prophylaxis therapies as well treatments for arterial insufficiency
and cutaneous ulceration via sequential compression wraps.
Clinical Benefits: Cold and Compression
applied post-operatively may afford the following benefits:
Reductions In: Edema & Lymphedema,
Pain & Opiate Consumption, Blood Loss, Risk of the Hunting Response
(cold-induced vasodilation)as system can be set to 43-51deg lowest temp.
Improvements In: Post-op Range of Motion, DVT Prophylaxis, Healing
Time.
See clinical studies linked below or the 2nd tab enclosed for current
medical data.
Patient Benefits: The TTC System
enhances post-op patient comfort. With ice or conventional systems,
patients must fill, carry, and replenish a 10-20 Ib device multiple
times per day. Ice-based systems are neither designed nor optimal for
non-ambulatory patients. Via its ease of use, patient compliance may
increase and thus outcomes improve. Patients have reported that the
system reduces their night-time discomfort, facilitates better rest,
and reduces pain. Overall satisfaction is high.
Customized Functionality: We offer
single patient use wraps available for every area of the body, every
joint. We can program in advance the timing and temperature of cooling,
heating, or contrast therapy. Pending is an ability to track patient
usage via separate flash-drive and to monitor and record temperature
data at the wound site.
Provider Process: Complete a provider
request form. For each patient, securely fax or email patient demographic
information at least 24 hours in advance of surgery. A representative
will contact your surgical coordinator for scheduling confirmation.
We contact patients 24 hours prior to surgery to confirm and introduce
services. In-patient, PACU, PT, or rehab clinic delivery is possible
when channels are confirmed. We deliver equipment and train the patient.
Typical in-service times are 0-6 hours post surgical release. Following
the in-service, Associated Medical confirms status update with the surgeon
or coordinator. We contact the patient at regular intervals for follow
up and maintain availability for patient questions and service at any
time.
Coverage Policy: Associated Medical's
products and services are generally covered by insurers, workers compensation,
and Medicare/Medicaid. To providers, our DME, home-care services typically
carry zero cost. Patients may bear some financial cost, which is disclosed
in advance. Associated Medical maintains a financial hardship policy,
striving to provide our technologies to every patient without exception.
Strong provider partnerships assist in our effort to offer services
to patients regardless of the limitations or absence of coverage.
Hospitals, In- & Out-Patient Clinics:
Associated Medical provides a cost-effective solution for hospitals
to transition from competitor ice-based systems to a simple, all-in-one
iceless heating/cooling/contrast/DVT prophylaxis system. The TTC System
compliments or replaces existing standard DVT prophylaxis equipment.
Iceless cooling can be applied during or immediately post-surgery via
a single device. Programmable and easily operable by clinical staff,
the TTC System eliminates recurring ice costs and affiliated staff-time.
Associated Medical provides the equipment as a capital purchase or as
an ongoing operational expense via a rental or per-patient fee agreement.
